Connecting with the natural world has been hugely significant to my wellbeing throughout my life, with the forest standing by me through more difficult times. To me, being in the forest feels like coming home.
I have worked in various roles across the social care and charity sectors, supporting the elderly, people experiencing homelessness, and young people facing complex barriers. With a BA degree in International Development, my approach to life is grounded in a deep motivation to leave the world in a better state than when I arrived.
As a qualified Forest Therapy Practitioner (accredited by Lightbox and the Complementary Medical Association), I aim to support others to experience the benefits of slowing down in nature, to breathe for a moment and reconnect with themselves, others and the earth we walk on.
Hi, I’m Maggie.
My Approach & Values
I am motivated by my own deep connection to nature and the amazing healing that I have experienced through time spent in the forest. For many with a busy mind, including myself, traditional mindfulness practices such as meditation and ‘clearing your mind’ can be challenging. I have found forest bathing can offer an engaging alternative that still promotes relaxation and reflection. I would like to share this with others who may feel this way and would like to try something a bit different.

Inclusivity
Often we can feel that wellness spaces are not for us, for a variety of reasons. Reconnect is a space for everyone, from all backgrounds and walks of life, especially those who aren’t sure if this is for them. We are experienced in working with people who are neurodivergent, and those with mental health needs, and are always open to creating sessions to suit individual needs.
Empowerment
Forest bathing sessions support people to support themselves. Everything that is felt and reflected on is held by the forest, and no advice is offered. This is a space to be seen and heard - however you wish to be. It is the forest that offers healing; we simply facilitate.
Empathy
Each session is built on compassion and empathy; deeply rooted in lived experience of depression, anxiety and PTSD; with a genuine love for connecting with others and hearing stories. Come along to a session to share yours.
Collaboration
As a facilitator of nature connection, I am collaborating with the forest to provide these sessions. I am collaborating with session participants to build a safe and gentle space. And as the forest offers its healing properties to us, so I give back in ways such as regular litter-picking.
I would love to talk about further ways to collaborate, whether that be with individuals or organisations, to support more people to experience the benefits of forest bathing.
“Maggie is a peaceful and intelligent guide”
